Amazon Product Preview

Paste an ASIN to pull the product image and build a clean affiliate link instantly, with no API key. This is the same trick that powers ProductReview boxes.

Why it matters

Check a product and build its link without logging into Amazon

Before you build a product box, you want to be sure you’ve got the right item, see its image, and grab a clean affiliate link. Normally that means logging into Amazon, digging through SiteStripe, or wiring up the Product Advertising API, all just to preview one product. That’s friction you don’t need for a quick check.

Paste an ASIN here and you get the product’s real image, a properly tagged affiliate link, and the exact shortcode to drop into ProductReview, instantly and with no API key. It’s the same no-key image trick the plugin uses on your live pages, so what you preview is what your readers will see.

How it works

How to use the Product Preview

1

Enter the ASIN

Paste the product’s 10-character ASIN. Use the ASIN Extractor first if you only have a URL.

2

Add your tag and marketplace

Enter your Amazon Associates tag (optional) and pick the storefront your readers use.

3

Preview and copy

See the image and details, then copy the affiliate link or the ready-to-paste [pr box] shortcode.

Tips & insights

  • The image loads straight from Amazon’s public image CDN, built from the ASIN, so no API key or approval is needed to see it.
  • Always include your Associates tag, or you earn nothing on the click. The Link & Tag Checker can audit existing links for missing tags.
  • Pick the right marketplace. A US tag on an amazon.co.uk link won’t track, so match the storefront to your audience (or let the plugin geo-route it).
  • If the image doesn’t appear, that product isn’t on the legacy image endpoint. On your live site the plugin falls back to the API image.
  • Live price, title and rating need the Creators API, which the plugin handles for you. This preview focuses on the image and link, which need no key.

Frequently asked questions

How do you show the image without the Amazon API?
Amazon serves product images from a public CDN whose URL can be built directly from the ASIN. This tool constructs that URL, so your browser loads the image with no API call and no key on our side.
Is using the image allowed?
Amazon has rules about how product images are displayed on published pages, where you should use the official API or approved methods (which the plugin does). This tool is a quick preview aid; always follow Amazon’s current image and linking guidelines on live content.
Why is the image missing for some products?
Not every ASIN resolves on the legacy image endpoint, especially newer or variation listings. When that happens you’ll see a placeholder here, and the plugin uses the API image on your site instead.
What is a partner (Associates) tag?
It’s the tracking ID at the end of your affiliate links, like yoursite-20. It tells Amazon the sale came from you. Without it the link still works, but you’re not credited.
Does the affiliate link work internationally?
The link points to the marketplace you choose. Readers in other countries may need a geo-routed link to buy on their local Amazon, which the plugin can do automatically.
Can I get the live price here?
Not in this tool. Prices change constantly and must come from Amazon’s API to stay accurate and compliant. ProductReview pulls and refreshes live prices for your boxes automatically.

Do this at scale, automatically.

ProductReview manages every Amazon product on your site: fresh prices, click analytics, and link-health alerts, all in one place.
