Why it matters

Clean, correctly-tagged Amazon links without the SiteStripe grind

Amazon’s SiteStripe is fine for one link at a time, but it’s slow, it logs you out constantly, and the links it copies are long, cluttered, and easy to break when you paste them between posts. Often the tracking tag gets stripped along the way, and you don’t find out until the commissions never arrive.

This builder gives you a clean, correctly-tagged link every time. Paste an ASIN or a full Amazon URL, add your Associates tag, pick the marketplace, and get back a tidy affiliate link, a ready-to-paste text-link snippet, and the ProductReview shortcode, all with no login and no API key.

How it works

How to use the Link Builder

1

Paste an ASIN or URL

Enter the product’s ASIN, or paste a full Amazon product URL and we’ll pull the ASIN out for you.

2

Add your tag and store

Enter your Amazon Associates tracking tag and choose the marketplace your readers use.

3

Copy your link

Grab the clean affiliate link, the text-link HTML, or the [pr box] shortcode, and drop it into your content.

Tips & insights

  • The tag is everything. A link without your tag= parameter still works but earns you nothing. Confirm it matches your Associates account exactly.
  • Don’t over-cloak. Amazon’s terms restrict how you shorten or mask links. A clean /dp/ link with your tag is the safe default, and the official amzn.to shortener is allowed too.
  • Match the marketplace to your reader. A .com link earns nothing on a UK sale. For a global audience, let the plugin geo-route each click to the right store.
  • Text links convert. A natural linked product name inside a sentence often beats a big banner, and the HTML snippet here is ready to paste.
  • Building lots of links? Save the product once in ProductReview and reuse it everywhere, so you update the link in one place instead of fifty.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create an Amazon affiliate link?
Take the product’s ASIN or URL and attach your Associates tracking tag, like amazon.com/dp/B00FLYWNYQ/?tag=yoursite-20. This tool builds that clean, tagged link for you from an ASIN or a pasted URL.
What is the “tag” in an Amazon affiliate link?
It’s your Associates tracking ID (for example, yoursite-20), added as ?tag=. It tells Amazon the sale came from you. No tag means no commission.
Do I need SiteStripe to make affiliate links?
No. SiteStripe is Amazon’s in-page toolbar, but any link to a product with your valid tag attached is a proper affiliate link. This builder produces the same thing without logging in.
Can I paste a full Amazon URL instead of the ASIN?
Yes. Paste the product URL and the tool extracts the ASIN, then rebuilds a clean link with your tag and drops all the tracking clutter.
Is link shortening or cloaking allowed?
Amazon restricts masking that hides the destination. A clean /dp/ link with your tag is safe, and Amazon’s own amzn.to shortener is allowed. Avoid third-party cloakers that obscure that it’s an Amazon link.
Will my link work in other countries?
The link points to the marketplace you pick. Buyers on a different Amazon store may not be tracked, so use geo-routing (which the plugin does) to send each reader to their local store with your tag.
Do I have to disclose affiliate links?
Yes. The FTC and Amazon both require a clear disclosure. The Affiliate Disclosure Generator writes a compliant one in seconds.
