Star Ratings

Amazon’s API doesn’t return a star rating for every account or product, so your beautiful boxes show up bare, no stars, no review count, and they convert worse for it. Ratings are the single most persuasive thing on a product card.

Why it matters

Never ship a box without stars again.

When Amazon returns a rating, boxes show it automatically. When it doesn’t, you can set a rating and review count for that product once, right in the post editor or on the AI Content screen, and it flows into every box, table and rating display for that ASIN across your whole site.

It is account-independent and stored per product, so it survives API hiccups and never has to be re-entered. One number, set once, and every placement of that product shows stars.

Pair it with the plugin’s Review Schema so those stars can also appear in Google search results, not just on your page.

How it works

Set a rating once, show it everywhere.

1

Open the AI product content panel

In any post editor, or under Productreview → AI Content, enter the product’s ASIN.

2

Type the rating and review count

For example 4.6 out of 5 and 12,380 reviews, then Save rating.

3

Done

Every box for that ASIN now shows stars, including boxes you already published.

Tips & insights

  • Copy the real rating and review count straight from the Amazon product page, so your stars stay honest and accurate.
  • Set ratings on your top 10 money products first. That is where stars move the most revenue.
  • Combine manual ratings with the Review Schema Generator so the same stars can show in Google’s results.

Frequently asked questions

Why don’t my boxes show stars automatically?
Amazon’s API is account-gated and does not return a customer rating for every product or every account. When it doesn’t, you set the rating yourself, once, and it shows everywhere.
Where do I set a manual rating?
In the “AI product content” panel inside any post editor, or under Productreview → AI Content. Enter the ASIN, the rating and the review count, and save.
Does the rating apply to every box for that product?
Yes. It is stored per ASIN, so once set it flows into every box, table and rating display that uses that product, including already-published ones.
Do I have to set it again if Amazon changes?
No. It persists until you change it. It also acts as a safety net when the API temporarily returns nothing.
Can the stars show in Google search results?
Yes, when paired with the plugin’s Review Schema, so the rating can appear as rich results, not only on your page.
Is it against Amazon’s terms to show a rating?
You are responsible for keeping displayed ratings accurate and current per Amazon’s Associates policies. Copying the live figure from the product page keeps you honest and compliant.
What rating styles are supported?
Standard five-star displays in small, normal and large sizes, with the fill matching your accent, across every box template.
