Link Health

A product goes out of stock or gets discontinued, and the box on your best-ranking post keeps sending readers to a dead end. You would never know until traffic converts nothing, because nobody manually re-checks 300 old posts.

Why it matters

Nothing breaks silently.

Link Health scans your published content for product placements and maps every ASIN to the articles that use it, then flags the problems that quietly cost you money: out-of-stock, discontinued, missing price, and the silent killer, a missing affiliate tag that earns you nothing on every click.

It is content-scoped: it checks only the products actually live on your site, not your whole cache, and it works from cached data with no extra API calls, so a scan is instant and free. Each flagged item links straight to the article that needs the fix.

Top-line tiles show products in content, how many are out of stock, and how many articles need attention, so your first job each week is a 30-second glance instead of a manual audit.

How it works

Find and fix revenue leaks fast.

1

Open Health

The screen scans your published posts for product placements automatically.

2

Read the flags

See which articles show a sold-out product, a missing tag, or a missing price.

3

Jump and fix

Click straight through to the article, swap the product or fix the tag, done.

Tips & insights

  • Check the missing-tag flags first. A link with no affiliate tag looks fine but earns you exactly nothing, on every click, forever.
  • Make the Health screen your Monday-morning ritual. Two minutes there protects the revenue your best posts already earn.
  • Because it is content-scoped, the list only ever shows products that are actually live, so there is no noise to wade through.

Frequently asked questions

What does Link Health check?
It flags products that are out of stock or discontinued, missing a price, stale, or, crucially, missing an affiliate tag, and shows which published articles are affected.
Why is a missing affiliate tag such a big deal?
A link without your tag still works for the reader but pays you nothing. It is the most expensive kind of bug because everything looks normal while you earn zero.
Does scanning hit the Amazon API a lot?
No. It works from already-cached data with no extra API calls, so a scan is instant and does not burn your rate limit.
Does it check every product in my library or just the live ones?
Only the products actually placed in your published content, so the list is relevant and free of noise from products you are not using.
How do I fix a flagged article?
Each row links straight to the affected article so you can swap the product or fix the tag in a click, then rescan.
How often does it refresh?
It caches results and can be rescanned on demand, so you always have a current picture without a heavy background job.
Will it catch discontinued products?
Yes. Out-of-stock and discontinued products are flagged so a dead placement on a ranking post never quietly bleeds clicks.
Is this the same as broken-link checking?
It goes further. As well as link problems it understands product state, stock, price and your affiliate tag, which a generic broken-link checker cannot see.
